This October, you might have noticed something a little different in the dojo — a sea of pink belts.
Throughout the month of October, our club proudly supported the National Breast Cancer Foundation, raising awareness and funds through our Pink Belt Initiative. Every student who wore a pink belt was helping to show support, strength and solidarity for those who have faced cancer — both in our club and across the wider community.
The idea behind the pink belt is simple but powerful. No matter who you are or what level you’re at, once that pink belt is tied, we’re all equal. Cancer doesn’t discriminate and neither does our support.
This cause holds special meaning for many of us, including Karen, one of our dedicated students and instructors. When Karen faced her own cancer journey, she says karate gave her focus and resilience — helping her rebuild her strength, one session at a time.
Her story is one of many reminders that karate isn’t just about the physical — it’s about mindset, community and the spirit to keep moving forward.
Thank you to everyone who’s taken part by purchasing a pink belt, donating and training with purpose this month. Every contribution helps fund life-saving research and brings us one step closer to a future free from cancer.
🎗️ Together, we kick for a cause.
